Although over 95% of our students are residential, Louisburg College tracks and reports the total number of enrolled students during each fall semester. The chart below reflects that enrollment data that has been reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) which is the federally required reporting system.

Transfer-out Data:

Many of our students, even after one semester, transfer into four-year colleges. The College is especially proud of its transfer-out rate, as it shows the College is fulfilling its mission, and with the percentage of our graduates who successfully transfer into four-year colleges. The College’s Transfer-out rate, over a 5-year period, is illustrated in the table below and According to the IPEDS glossary, "transfer-out rate is defined by the total number of students who are known to have transferred out of the reporting institution within 150% of normal time to completion divided by the adjusted cohort. Louisburg College assesses students that leave its institution and enroll at other institutions, regardless of degree completion, as student achievement.

Employment Placement and Types of Employment Obtained by Graduates

A primary aspect of Louisburg’s mission is to ‘provide a bridge for students to make a successful transition from high school to senior colleges and universities’. Due to the mission of the institution, students are encouraged to complete their associate’s degree at Louisburg and then pursue their bachelor’s degree immediately after graduation. The Office of Advancement developed a survey to obtain this information from graduating students. In the Spring of 2023, 91% of the graduating students who were surveyed indicated that they plan to attend a 4-year institution for the 2023-2024 academic year. Approximately 9% indicated that they were undecided about their future plans. While our Academic Success Center assists students with career readiness and applying for employment, if students are interested in employment, over 90% of our students are interested in assistance with applying to a 4-year institution when they graduate from Louisburg.
